The Griffith Park Merry-Go-Round is a nostalgia-inducing gem that\, much like Disneyland\, is still enjoyed by the young and the young-at-heart decades after its inception. The small carousel\, which is tucked away into a quiet corner of the park\, served as Walt Disney’s inspiration for Disneyland. When his children were young\, Walt\, a Los Feliz denizen\, took them to the merry-go-round on weekends. During one visit\, while sitting on a bench watching his kids circle round and round\, he was inspired to create a large scale gathering site that the whole family could enjoy. His dream was realized on July 17\, 1955\, when Disneyland opened to the public.

DESCRIPTION:North Meets South 2023 will occur in Cambria\, California\, May 4 – 7\, 2023\, at the Cambria Pines Lodge. \nWe’re sorry\, but the event is Sold Out. \nImportant Notes for Attendees:\nIf you haven’t already had a mechanic perform a Safety Inspection of your 356\, we recommend you do so. Ensure your classic is ready for the trip to and from Cambria and any local driving. \nAll attendees (registrants and guests) must check in to receive a name badge at the registration desk. Please wear your lanyard and badge at all events. \nPlease check the weather before your departure. The evenings in Cambria can get quite chilly. Our Thursday and Friday night events are outdoors\, so bring a jacket! \nIf you are hauling a trailer\, you may park in the Cambria Pines lower lot\, but it must be moved Friday evening after 6 PM (and before 6:30 AM Saturday) to the Cambria Nursery across the street and left there for the rest of the weekend. We need the lower lot for the Saturday Concours and the Sunday morning swap meet. Thank you for understanding! \nParking for the Saturday morning Peoples Choice Concours begins at 7 AM and ends at 8 AM. Over 150 cars will be participating\, so it will be tight. DESCRIPTION:The annual St. Patrick‘s Day Cruise will be a multi-county drive starting at the Outlets in San Clemente and ending at the Stone Brewery in Escondido for lunch. The Outlets has a weekly Cars & Coffee that starts at 9:00 am (you can’t miss it – follow the line of cars headed over to Ruby’s). We will gather at 9:45 in the lot near Panera Bread for a group departure at 10:00 am. The route will get us to Stone Brewery right about 12 pm\, so you might want to book a table to ensure you get a seat quickly. Lunch is on your own\, and we will head back to OC after a few group photos. We have indoor and outdoor space\, overnight RV camping for vendors\, and VIP spots for extra high visibility.  \nFor 2023 we are returning to the Boys Republic in Chino as this location provides maximum space for vendors and swappers to spread out\, lots of grass and trees for enjoying lunch – plus a huge grass display area for Porsches of all makes and models. \nSpaces are filling up fast\, so hit the link at the bottom to sign up before they are all gone. \nGeneral Admission is $20 per person. Admission for pre-paying 356 Club Members is $10. We have free parking and VIP Porsche-only display parking for $20. DESCRIPTION:Everyone that is even remotely interested in the 356 and other early Porsches is welcome to attend! \nThis event was started by Mike Nelson circa 1998 with a gathering of about 12 people at his home. A small group has been responsible for carrying on this tradition at Jack’s shop at 1321 Calle Valle\, San Clemente\, 92672. \nLunch will begin at 12 noon. Grillmaster Bob Lee (former Der Wienerschnitzel employee of the month in Phoenix\, Arizona) will be doing his magic once again. Everyone is encouraged to bring something to share. In the past\, certain individuals treated this as a “feed the hopeless” event and left after eating. Jack requests that you don’t do that! \nGot spare parts? Bring what can fit in a 356 to sell/swap\, help someone along with their project! Larger parts print out a flyer. Swag?
